Albert Pujols homered for the second consecutive game, but Los Angeles Angels pitchers Tommy Hanson and Ernesto Frieri were hit hard Sunday in a 17-11 loss to the Kansas City Royals.

Billy Butler went 3 for 4 with four RBIs and scored three runs to lead the Kansas City outburst. Jeff Francoeur homered, tripled, doubled and drove in three runs. Chris Getz added three hits and two RBIs as the Royals won for the 13th time in 14 games this spring.

Pujols homered off left-hander Bruce Chen in the fifth. The slugger also singled and walked, but Matt Young was used as a courtesy runner for Pujols, who had offseason knee surgery.

Max Ramirez also homered for the Royals.

Vernon Wells and Hank Conger went deep off Kansas City starter Luke Hochevar, who got the win despite giving up four runs and five hits in 3 1-3 innings.
