SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Notre Dame wide receiver DaVaris Daniels is not enrolled in school for the spring semester.
Director of football media relations Michael Bertsch said because of privacy laws he couldn't comment further. Bertsch released a statement from Daniels saying he understands "attending the University of Notre Dame is a privilege and with that comes a certain level of academic responsibility."
Daniels said he plans to re-enroll in the summer semester and continue to play for the Irish. He is the third high-profile to be suspended from school for academic problems. Jerian Grant, the leading scorer on the basketball team, was suspended last month for an academic violation and quarterback Everett Golson missed the fall semester.
Daniels' dismissal from school was first reported by ESPN.com.
