Report: Pawlenty Distributes Unused Campaign Funds Among Non-Profits, State Republicans
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Non-profits and Minnesota Republicans are enjoying the fruits of Gov. Tim Pawlenty's fundraising labor, as the outgoing GOP governor distributes the hundreds of thousands of dollars he has left in his state campaign account.
Pawlenty, who has chosen not to run next year for a third term, closed his state campaign finance committee Tuesday and split up the $574,000 left in it among a number of groups, Minnesota's Star Tribune newspaper reported.
The state Republican party got $204,000. And the party's state House and Senate campaign committees got $40,000 each.

The end of the campaign account doesn't mean the end of Pawlenty's political career. He is considered a possible contender in the 2012 presidential race.
