As a bipartisan group of 10 lawmakers announced their plans to sue President Obama over what they call an illegal war in Libya, freshman lawmaker Scott Rigell (R-Va) weighed in on the issue on Wednesday's Power Play Live with Chris Stirewalt.

Congressman Rigell told Stirewalt, "I believe what the president is doing truly is unconstitutional" and added, "I have opposed this from the very beginning."

The lawmakers say Obama violated the Constitution in bypassing Congress and using international organizations like the United Nations and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to authorize military force, and want a judge to issue an order suspending military operations.

On the economy, separately, Rigell said, "I think you would be hard-pressed to find a Republican who believes that raising taxes right now is the way to get our economy going again, so I don't think that's going to get traction" and likened Washington spending to, "a ski slope going up."
