Wednesday afternoon on Capitol Hill almost felt like Easter Sunday, featuring suits and poofy dresses with a full schedule of activities and plenty of family pictures.
Nervous family members stood in assembly form to wait for the opportunity to pose in a picture with their Congressional family member and new House Speaker John Boehner.
Boehner bounced from one side of the room to the other to take pictures for the mock swearing-ins. The swear-ins that counted happened on the House floor earlier in the day. Some chose to use a personal Bible, others use the one provided.

The pictures snapped in the Capitol's Rayburn room Wednesday will no doubt end up gracing the walls of House office buildings everywhere and surely make it on a Christmas card or two.
Moms and wives fixed and primped collars, pinning up curls of young daughters in shiny, bubble red dresses.
Rep Peter King, R-N.Y., has served in Congress for more than 25 years, when his family was asked if it ever gets old, they said no, it doesn't.

Other new members and their families described the day as "exciting."
