Meek's Tough New Ad Bashes Crist with His Own Words
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}MIAMI- A new TV ad out Wednesday by Rep. Kendrick Meek and the Florida Democratic party bashes no-party independent Charlie Crist in blunt words-not said by a faceless narrator, but from a familiar figure in the Florida Senate race: Crist himself.
The ad uses sound bites and video of Crist during his time as the Republican governor of Florida, which ended when he left the GOP primary in April to run as an independent in the heated Senate race.
"I think it's important for people to understand who the true conservative is in this race," the ad shows Crist saying during the primary battle against GOP candidate Marco Rubio. "And its Charlie Crist."

Meek and the Florida Democrats also use sound from Crist from other recent time periods, including when he was a McCain-Palin backer in 2008.
" I was impressed at Governor Palin being picked. I watched her speech today. I was very impressed, " Crist says.

"I am a Jeb Bush Republican." That's a toxic term to many of the Florida Democrats Crist is now trying to woo away from Meek.
The latest Mason Dixon poll shows that Crist may have a tough road ahead. Meek now only trails Crist by five points, with Crist at 28 percent and Meek at 23 percent. Rubio leads both, garnering 40 percent of likely Florida voters polled. The survey had margin of error of +/ - 4.
