Krauthammer on Obama’s trade agenda: ‘Is he the president, or will Reid decide?’
Syndicated columnist and Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer told viewers Thursday on “Special Report with Bret Baier” that the split between President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., on trade issues forces the president to decide whether he’ll lead---or take a backseat to Reid.
“This is a test of the president,” Krauthammer said. “Is he the president, or is Harry Reid going to be the one who decides?”
These comments came after Reid bluntly stated he was against calling an up or down vote on two trade agreements the administration supports.
“I think it’s a sign of the diminishment of [President Obama’s] authority that Reid spoke so openly and defiantly,” Krauthammer added.
