White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs said the following today about President Obama's reaction to the death of Michael Jackson:
"Michael Jackson was a spectacular performer, a music icon. I think everybody remembers hearing his songs, watching -- watching him moon walk on television during Motown's 25th anniversary. I think -- but the president also said, you know, look, he had a -- aspects of his life were sad and tragic. His condolences went out to the Jackson family and to fans that mourned his loss."Gibbs did say the President **did not** call the Jackson family and also said he didn't believe that the President had never met the "King of Pop"
