Gates and Obama to talk about shooting at US base in Iraq ....

Robert Gibbs told the press corps during his briefing that Secretary of Defense Gates will meet with President Obama today at the White House.  This was not on Obama's previously-released schedule.

Gibbs said the president plans to discuss the shootings during the private meeting.

We've learned it's scheduled for 4:30pm and will be watching to see if Gates comes to the cameras to speak, though we doubt it.

Gibbs also said he'll send us an email with the White House's take on the replacement of Gen McKiernan, which we'll post here when we get it.
