DNC Chair Reflects on Partisanship and Pelosi's Future

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine is not as confident as his colleagues when it comes to keeping his party's majority in the House.

From the DNC headquarters, Kaine said Washington needs to look at Tuesday night's results as a wakeup call for partisanship.

"Maybe it's a message from the American public. We've got a Democrat in the White House. We'll have maybe a majority of Republican governors, a Democratic Senate, and a Republican House. Everyone is going to have to work together," said Kaine.

The Chairman and former Virginia Governor also spoke briefly on the future of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He said, if Pelosi would like to remain in the House leadership, she absolutely should.

"She has done a very good job accomplishing things that I think willl be well regarded in history, in terms of speakers who were able to get things done," said Kaine.
