Congressional Calendar August 2, 2010

Members of the House are back home for the August recess, but the Senate still has some work to do before heading out of town for the month.

The Senate will take up a spending bill for the Federal Aviation Administration. The bill, which should have a crucial test vote late Monday afternoon, will fund the agency through September 2011 and speed the deployment of a next generation air traffic control system. The new system uses GPS satellites and is set to replace the older radar-based network starting in 2014, with full implementation in 2020.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is threatening to place a hold on Lt. Gen. James Clapper (ret.), President Obama’s nominee to become the Director of National Intelligence. McCain plans to reveal his concerns about Clapper, who sailed through his confirmation hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee, on Monday.

We’ll be covering these stories and more from all angles, so be sure to stay with Fox News for all the latest.
