Boehner and McConnell meet with GOP Super Committee Members. Failure "Not an Option"

President Obama will deliver a much-anticipated speech on jobs and the economy to a joint session of congress in the evening, however it also marks the first meeting of the Super Committee, tasked with targeting $1.5 trillion in deficit cuts by Thanksgiving.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) had their first face to face meeting with GOP Super Committee members on Wednesday, they spoke for about 30 minutes.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, which consists of six members from each party and is split evenly between House and Senate members, will meet Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m.
"This is a very important committee," said Boehner. "We're committed that this committee get an outcome and we believe that by reducing our debt, we create a better environment to create jobs in America."
"Failure is not an option," added McConnell.
