Trey Gowdy, Dan Bongino set to debut new Fox News weekend shows

'The Big Saturday Show' and 'The Big Sunday Show' will also launch June 5th and 6th

Fox News contributors Dan Bongino and Trey Gowdy are set to debut Saturday and Sunday shows for the network as part of a new slate of weekend programming on Fox News Channel.

"Unfiltered with Dan Bongino" will air Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET, beginning June 5, while Gowdy will host "Sunday Night in America" at 7 p.m. ET Sunday evenings, starting June 6.

Bongino, a former U.S. Secret Service agent who joined Fox as a contributor in 2019, will launch his program June 5, tackling the week's most pressing headlines and drawing on his law enforcement experience to discuss American priorities like liberty, security, and family.

His show will replace Greg Gutfeld's weekend program, after the titular host's new program "Gutfeld!" launched last month to record ratings in its weekday 11 p.m. timeslot. Bongino vowed that the show will be "relentlessly exposing the multitude of lies of the radical Left, and their media sycophants."

"On this show, I’ll be your voice. Because I’m horrified that the values that have made us that shining city on a hill, are being set aflame. I pledge to ask the tough questions of politicians. And to NEVER, EVER, back away from a principled fight. The fight matters. The fight ALWAYS matters. The truth matters. And you matter," said Bongino.

In addition to his primetime role, Bongino will continue serving as host of Westwood One's "The Dan Bongino Show," with FOX Nation now also streaming his daily radio program from 12-3 p.m. ET.

Gowdy, a former South Carolina Republican congressman and chairman of the House Oversight Committee, will break down legal and political news on his program, in addition to conducting interviews with decision-makers and Washington insiders.

Gowdy joined Fox News as a contributor in 2019 and hosts "The Trey Gowdy Podcast" on FOX News Audio.

"There are two promises I can make to you up front," Gowdy said of his new show.

"Number one I am certain I will make mistakes.  I've been making mistakes since I ate my father's contacts as a kid and mistakenly believed the cookies my mom made were for me and not for her "Bridge Club". The cookies actually tasted better than the contacts. I make mistakes. People can forgive you for mistakes so long as you acknowledge them and value the truth. If I don't know something, I'll tell you I don't know. If there is another side to an issue, I will tell you that too.

He added, "The other promise I will make you is we are going to have fun. We will have interesting guests. We will give them time to share what they know. We will laugh together, we may cry together, we will undoubtedly learn together."

Fox News will also present a pair of panel discussion shows, "The Big Saturday Show" and "The Big Sunday Show," from 5-6 p.m. ET on weekends, featuring a rotating group of panelists discussing hot topics in news and culture.
