If you are a cocktail novice, have some fine tequila either neat or on the rocks. But if you want to try something different on National Tequila Day, here are two options.

La Paloma Suprema

Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces 100% of blue agave Reposado tequila
4 ounces Squirt Soda
5 Ice Cubes
Lime Wedge for Garnish

Preparation:
1. Pour tequila and Squirt soda into a highball cocktail glass filled with ice.  
2. Garnish with lime wedge.

Ideal Serving Glass:
Highball cocktail glass

Yield:  
1 drink, no drink contains more than 0.6 fluid ounces of alcohol

Agave Ginger-Rita

Ingredients:
1 ounce Tequila Don Julio Blanco
1/4 ounce orange liqueur
1 ounce Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 ounce Ginger-Root Infused Simple Syrup*
1 Egg White
Lime Wedge for Garnish

To create Simple Syrup:

Ingredients:
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Water

Preparation:
1.     Bring water to a boil and dissolve sugar into boiling water.
2.     Once the sugar is dissolved completely, remove the pan from the heat.
3.     Allow to cool completely.  Can be prepared one day ahead.

Preparation:
1. Finely chop ginger root and place in a mesh strainer.  Pour simple syrup over the top and muddle the ginger through the strainer creating a ginger-root infused simple syrup.
2. Combine Tequila Don Julio Blanco, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, ginger-root infused simple syrup and egg white into a cocktail shaker.  Shake well.
3. Pour contents into a rocks glass over ice.  
4. Garnish with lime wedge.

Ideal Serving Glass:
Rocks glass

Yield:
1 drink, no drink contains more than 0.6 fluid ounces of alcohol
