The OMG Diet: Dangerous new fad or quick fix?

It's that time of year again – the vacation is booked, bikinis have been purchased and the thought of flashing the flesh on the beach is filling you with horror.

But there is a new e-book that promises a last-minute quick fix to help you shift the extra pounds in time for your summer trip.

Six Weeks To OMG: Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends has knocked the Dukan Diet from the top of the best-seller list.

And its British author – celebrity personal trainer Paul Khanna writing under the name Venice A. Fulton – has now landed a book deal worth millions in America. He claims readers can lose 20 pounds of body fat and reduce cellulite.

But to achieve this goal, there is a price to pay.

Dieters must exercise first thing in the morning, after drinking black coffee and before eating any food, to boost the nervous system and kick-start the body into burning fat.

The diet plan states you must not eat for the next three hours so that the body is forced to burn stored fat.

Dieters are then told to sit in a cold bath to encourage the body to burn stored fat as it tries to keep warm.

Fruit must be ditched and carbohydrates limited but plenty of protein is allowed.
