Mom in UK says she’s addicted to eating toilet paper

A 25-year-old mother of five developed a bizarre craving during her most recent pregnancy that, more than a year later, she just can’t shake.

Jade Sylvester, who lives in the U.K., cannot stop eating toilet paper, sometimes eating up to an entire roll in one day, the Mirror reported.

“Two months into the pregnancy, I started craving toilet roll. I still don’t know why,” Sylvester told the news outlet. “I like the feeling of the texture in my mouth, rather than the taste. I like the dryness.”

Sylvester, a stay-at-home mom, said that the cravings are worse when she has to use the bathroom. She told the Mirror that she will eat around eight sheets of toilet paper during a trip to the bathroom.

“Today I try and hold off going to the bathroom because I know if I go I will eat the paper,” Sylvester said.

Her family has warned her unusual habit may spurn health issues later, but she can’t help it.
