Drug-Laced Treat Sends 8 Kids to the Hospital
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Eight middle school students in Los Angeles were taken to the hospital after eating a drug-laced chocolate bar, the L.A. Times is reporting.
Initially, officials thought it was marijuana-laced brownies that sickened the students, but one of the kids later told school officials that he had bought the chocolate bar at a skate shop and later shared it with friends.
The students at George Washington Carver Middle School, who are between the ages of 11 and 13 years old, were taken to a County-USC Medical Center after they were examined by a school nurse who found they had accelerated heart rates and elevated blood pressure. All the students are said to be in good condition.
