190K pounds of food added to P.F. Chang's frozen meal recall

Restaurant chain P.F. Chang’s frozen meals were recalled Tuesday due to possible metal fragments in the sauce. On Wednesday, the company expanded its voluntary recall and revealed the source of metal.

According to a news release by ConAgra Foods, sugar from a supplier may contain small metal fragments (2-9mm). The sugar was used in the sauces for eight P.F. Chang’s Home Menu brand products. On July 7, while dispensing sugar from a supplier for the products, a ConAgra employee observed metal fragments. On July 14, the supplier notified ConAgra of additional production lots of sugar that were impacted.

The expanded recall includes an additional 191,791 pounds of products, the Times Record reported. The original recall included 3,806 pounds of product.
