SodaStream recalls over 50,000 potentially explosive bottles

A manufacturing defect has forced the makers of SodaStream to recall tens of thousands of their carbonated bottles because of a possible risk of explosion.
The company issued a voluntary recall of about 51,000 units of their one liter blue dishwasher-safe carbonating bottles on Feb. 21, as some of the bottles reportedly burst under pressure, ultimately posing a hazard to users.
SodaStream has received no reports of injuries but consumers should immediately stop using the recalled carbonating bottles and contact the company for a full refund of about $15.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The one liter bottle has a blue tint with a blue cap and blue bottom base, with the words “SodaStream” and “Dishwasher safe” printed on them. Only bottles with an April 20, 2020 expiration date on the warning label are included in the recall.

The defected product, now listed as out of stock on the company’s website, is described as having a 33 fl. oz. capacity and could be reused until the expiration date printed on the bottle. The bottle is also dishwasher safe.
