What could be better than Nutella ice cream.  Nutella ice cream with Carvel crunchies, of course.

It's the first time the iconic Italian sweets company has partnered with an ice cream brand to create four summertime treats.

The flavors are hand-scooped chocolate ice cream with layers of Nutella and Carvel crunchies, Nutella-flavored soft serve ice cream, and two types of Sundae Dashers--soft-serve ice cream made with Nutella and Carvel Crunchies topped with whipped cream and Nutella and the other  with Nutella ice cream and bananas topped with whipped cream and Nutella.

“We could not be more excited to offer our handcrafted Carvel ice cream with Nutella hazelnut spread as an exciting treat this summer,” said Carvel president Scott Colwell.  “Nutella has such a loyal following and we know our guests will be thrilled that it’s being paired with our fresh ice cream.”

The folks at Carvel came by to whip us up a Sundae Dasher - no bananas.

So how did it taste?  Pretty darn good.

You'd think the layers of Nutella-flavored ice cream with Carvel crunchies would taste super-sweet, but it wasn't. The hint of hazelnut in the ice cream mixed well with Carvel's signature crunchie goodness, and the Nutella drizzle topped it off perfectly.

We can't wait to try the other Sundae Dasher- with bananas. The battle for which one is better could be a toss up.

You better hurry, you can only get these treats at Carvel until September 30.
