Then/Now: The Cast of 'Magnum, P.I.'

Tom Selleck starred in this wildly popular series, which ran on CBS from 1980 through 1988. Selleck played Thomas Magnum, a Private Investigator who provides security at the estate of a wealthy author. FOX411 spoke with former cast member Larry Manetti about his days on the hit show. Before playing playboy and club owner Rick Wright on “Magnum, P.I.,” Manetti kicked off his career with the series “Chase” and “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” as well as “The Duke.” (CBS)

Since “Magnum,” the actor has appeared on series like “Battlestar Galactica” and “Walker, Texas Ranger.” Manetti, who says his character Rick was him “to a T,” tells FOX411 that he and his “Magnum P.I.” castmates were “like a family.” The actor, now 62, says he still sees former co-star Tom Selleck, and dines with him at least once a month. Another reminder of his time on the show? His 80s wardrobe, which he still owns in its entirety. But his favorite part of the TV experience was befriending his co-stars. “We had a lot of laughs during the filming,” Manetti says. Larry’s book, “Aloha Magnum” details his time on the show. Before the show, Selleck appeared on the soap “The Young and the Restless” and movies like “Midway.” While playing Magnum, Selleck also starred in films like “Lassiter” and “Three Men and a Baby.” (CBS)

After completing his best-known role to date (Magnum), Selleck went on to shows like “Friends” and “Las Vegas" and movies like “Mr. Baseball” and “Quigley Down Under.” Catch Tom, now 65, in the upcoming action comedy “Killers,” also starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher. (AP) (AP2008)

Mosley is best known for playing helicopter pilot T.C. Calvin on “Magnum P.I.” Before the show, he starred in 1976 film “Leadbelly.” (CBS)

Mosley, now 71, has appeared in series like “Las Vegas” (2007) and films like “Unlawful Entry”(1992) since “Magnum” ended. (REUTERS)

In addition to “Magnum P.I.,” Hillerman has played his character Higgins on three other television shows: “Quantum Leap” (1981), “Murder, She Wrote” (1986), and “Simon & Simon” (1982). He’s won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his work on “Magnum.” Before “the series, Hillerman appeared on TV shows like “Wonder Woman” and “Hawaii Five-O” and in films including “Paper Moon,” “The Last Picture Show,” and “Blazing Saddles.” (CBS)
