‘Seinfeld’s' Mr. Kruger, Daniel von Bargen, dies at 64

Daniel von Bargen, a character actor who played George’s apathetic boss on "Seinfeld" among numerous other roles, has died. Von Bargen died Sunday after a long illness, according to Cincinnati TV station WLWT. He was 64.

A Cincinnati, Ohio, native, von Bargen appeared in dozens of TV shows and movies over a decades-long career, including the memorable role of Commandant Edwin Spangler on TV’s "Malcolm In The Middle," but he is perhaps best known as Mr. Kruger, George Costanza’s lazy boss on Season 9 of "Seinfeld."

His dozens of other TV credits include "All My Children," "The West Wing," "Ally McBeal," "Judging Amy" and "Without A Trace."

On the film side, he played a Southern cop in the Coen brothers’ "O Brother, Where Art Thou?." as well as "Silence Of The Lambs," "Basic Instinct," "Robo Cop 3," "Six Degrees Of Separation," and "The Postman," among others.
