“American Idol” Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery is on the road, headlining his summer “See You Tonight” tour. But in May, McCreery was fearing for his life when he and his friends were robbed at gunpoint in an off-campus apartment near North Carolina State University.

“They barged on in with guns, but we’re all alive and kickin’ and breathin’,” he told FOX & Friends on stage Friday, where he was performing for the show’s American Summer concert series. “It was no fun at all.”

While arrests were made after the robbery, McCreery said his cell phone that was stolen was never recovered.

“Back up your cell phones!” he laughed. “We’re all still here and all that stuff’s replaceable, so it’s cool.”

McCreery is on tour supporting his second album, “See You Tonight,” which also happens to be his second album to debut at No. 1 on the country charts.

“It’s only the second time that’s ever happened in country music,” he said. “So I’m blessed. I’m humbled.”
