Hot or Not: The Best and Worst Dressed at the Emmy Awards

Emmy Hots or Nots When Sofia Vergara stepped on the red carpet in her stunning coral Vera Wang gown and huge emerald earrings, all eyes were on the "Modern Family" star. But not all fashion is good fashion and some of these small screen stars made some very questionable choices. Click to find out who looked hot and who was a big not! (AP)

NOT: Julianna Marguiles The crystal bubbles on the bodice of Marguiles' gown suggest it's George Jetson couture, but it's actually Armani Prive. Either way, it's bad. Very bad.

HOT: Kate Winslet The Emmy-award winner chose an Elie Saab plunging red gown for her big night. We weren't crazy about her hair, but overall, Kate kept up with her reputation for a style star. (AP)

NOT: Gwyneth Paltrow Paltrow's Pucci gown was not only unflattering (sheer stomach panels never, ever work), but also gave the illusion that you could see her spanx under her skirt. (AP2011)

Hot: Evan Rachel Wood The "Mildred Pierce" nominee chose the same designer as her co-star Kate Winslet and looked stunning in the process. (AP)

Not: Julianna Hough For such a beautiful girl, Hough has a seriously hard time choosing quality fashion. Here, the star's Carolina Herrera gown seems to have split personalities, with a flesh-colored top, black waist and pink bodice. (AP) (AP2011)

Not: Tiffani Thiessen Thiessen may have misread her invitation to the Emmys and thought she was going to a nightclub instead with this animal-print tunic and gladiator sandals. (2011 Kristian Dowling)

Not: Dianna Agron The "Glee" star's blue gown may have been a better choice had it not turned into a wrinkled mess by the end of the night. (2011 Kristian Dowling)

HOT: Claire Danes Danes' daring Oscar de la Renta was a welcome change from the sea of red or silver/white gowns on the carpet this year. And while it's one sparkle away from looking like a New Year's Eve decoration, the star still managed to look incredibly glamorous. (2011 Kristian Dowling)

NOT: Katie Holmes Long gone are the days of Katie Holmes looking like a style star on the red carpet. Instead, she's replaced them with drab dress after drab dress, much like this blue Calvin Klein number.

HOT: Maria Bello She's being billed as tv's newest tough detective on her upcoming show "Prime Suspect" but the actress hit a high note with her feminine Kaufmanfranco gown. (AP)

NOT: Rachel Harris Harris chose a boring black gown and accessorized it with her geek-chic glasses.

HOT: Nina Dobrev "Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev took the red gown trend and made it all her own in a beautiful structured gown. (AP)

NOT: Christina Hendricks If we are starting to feel like a broken record complaining about Hendricks' gravity-defying cleavage gowns, we can only hope that she will start to listen. Switch it up already!

HOT: Lea Michele The "Glee" star was all about trends in a red gown in the hottest color of the night and structured sleeves as well. (AP2011)

NOT: Taraji P. Henson The nominee chose a shapeless frock that somehow managed to be the least-sexy see-through gown we've ever seen.

NOT: Melissa McCarthy The "Mike and Molly" star was a crowd favorite with her big win and touching speech, but her purple frock was a little too severe for the red carpet.

HOT: Cast of 'Charlie's Angels' Aside from that ridiculous headband Annie Ilonzeh is wearing (center), she and her fellow "Angels" Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor wore fabulous fashion for their Emmy debut as a cast. (AP2011)

NOT: Paz de la Huerta While we appreciate her commitment to her kooky image, between Paz's horrible hairstyle and blatant attempt to expose her dress' split, the "Boardwalk Empire" actress' look is a big miss. (2011 Kristian Dowling)

NOT: Heidi Klum and Seal Klum's Christian Siriano gown looked more like a biology project than a dress, but it paled in comparison to Seal's ridiculous bare-chested, oiled-up look. So bad.
