Google: Not at fault for failure to remove nude pics

Google responded to the $100 million lawsuit brought against them by lawyers for the celebrities whose nude images were hacked, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The suit claims Google was "making millions from the victimization of women" by allegedly failing to remove the images.

"We've removed tens of thousands of pictures -- within hours of the requests being made -- and we have closed hundreds of accounts. The Internet is used for many good things. Stealing people’s private photos is not one of them," a Google spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter in a statement.

Google's response came after top Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer, who represents dozens of the women affected by the leak including Jennifer Lawrence, sent a letter to Google founders and lawyers accusing them of "blatantly unethical behavior," the New York Post reported.

Singer also compared the tech giant's alleged lack of action to the NFL's handling of the Ray Rice scandal.
