FOX411 Recast Blast: ‘The Brady Bunch’

On the heels of remake news surrounding the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/02/02/thennow-cast-team">"A-Team"</a> and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2010/03/12/dawn-wells-gilligans-island-remake-mary-ann">"Gilligan's Island,"</a> we got to thinking: what other shows could we recast with 21st century stars? "The Brady Bunch" premiered in 1969, and revolved around a large stepfamily, as you may remember, following the happy-go-lucky adventures of a widower with three cute little boys who marries another widow with three adorable little girls.  The show about the big, blended brood became a pop culture phenomenon. <a target="_blank" href="http://entertainment.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/03/29/who-would-you-cast-in-brady-bunch-the-movie/">FOX411: Who would you cast? Click to our Casting Couch.</a> After the show ended in 1974, the Bradys returned in TV specials like "A Very Brady Christmas" and even a parody movie in 1995. But who would play the perfectly coifed crew today?  <b><i>MORE FOX411.COM RECAST BLASTS</i></b> <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/01/19/fox-recasts-gilligans-island">RECAST BLAST: 'Gilligan's Island'</a> <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/03/19/thennow-magnum-pi/">RECAST BLAST: 'Magnum, P.I.'</a> <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/02/09/fox-recast-blast-designing-women">RECAST BLAST: 'Designing Women'</a> <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/02/19/fox-recast-full-house">RECAST BLAST: 'Full House'</a> (ABC)

Which stars did we choose to constitute the famous family? A former beach bod, a troubled starlet, and a few child stars, for starters. <b><i>MORE FOX411.COM RECAST BLASTS</i></b> <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/01/19/fox-recasts-gilligans-island">RECAST BLAST: 'Gilligan's Island'</a> <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/03/19/thennow-magnum-pi/">RECAST BLAST: 'Magnum, P.I.'</a> <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/02/09/fox-recast-blast-designing-women">RECAST BLAST: 'Designing Women'</a> <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/entertainment/2010/02/19/fox-recast-full-house">RECAST BLAST: 'Full House'</a>

With his Shakespearean acting background, Robert Reed dished out the fatherly advice on the quirky, family-friendly program. As the Brady patriarch, Reed was constantly providing sensible lessons for his brood. (ABC)

David Hasselhoff has a manly presence that would translate well to Mike Brady. Plus, as the father-figure on "Baywatch," The Hoff is totally believable. (AP)

As Carol Brady, Florence Henderson, then 35, was half of the dynamic Mike-Carol duo. Carol was the classic stay-at-home mom: loving and gentle but also no-nonsense when her kids acted up.  Later in the series, she becomes a real estate agent, while also changing her classic bob for a more updated mullet-esque style. (ABC)

Jane Krakowski is a fire-cracker on "30 Rock," and she could provide some great comedy for our pretend remake. (AP)

Barry Williams played ladies' man and oldest child, Greg. Greg was popular at school, and stories of his girlfriends, surfing, and desire for singing stardom were frequently featured.  Later Greg had something none of the other children ever dreamed of: His own room in the attic. (ABC)

Not only does he look just like Greg in his prime, Adrian Grenier plays a ladies' man on "Entourage," so audiences would have no problem with the transition.  Except that he'd be playing a high schooler.... minor issue. (REUTERS)

The most popular Brady, Marcia (played by Maureen McCormick), was the eldest girl and arguably the most beautiful with her long blonde hair and pretty face. No wonder Jan was jealous. (ABC)

Having played a queen bee on "The O.C.," Mischa Barton knows a thing or two about being popular. Plus, we hear she needs the work. (AP)

The clumsiest Brady, Peter (played by Christopher Knight), was known for several hilarious sequences: dressing up as a girl scout, believing he had no personality, and of course singing with his changing pubescent voice during the family's musical run.  (ABC)

Zac Efron will have to step aside and leave the pretty boy stuff to Adrian Grenier. In our remake, the Disney dreamboat's gotta go goofy. (REUTERS)

Played by Eve Plumb, Jan had dreams of being like her popular sister Marcia, even going so far as to wear a brown wig to distinguish herself.  (ABC)

On "Hannah Montana," Emily Osment played the Jan  to Miley Cyrus' Marcia, so she's practiced at playing second fiddle. (REUTERS)

Always getting his other siblings in trouble, Bobby Brady (portrayed by Mike Lookinland) was the big dreamer of the children, and in the later TV specials, he became a race car driver. (ABC)

Sassy "Two and a Half Men" star Angus T. Jones can stop dealing with Charlie Sheen and start tattling on his onscreen sibs.

The youngest of the bunch, Cindy Brady was portrayed by Susan Olsen. Cindy didn't let her lisp hold her back: She was a tattle-tale and a mischievous schemer who once even got quarterback legend Joe Namath to meet Bobby. (ABC)

Dakota's baby sister Elle Fanning is adorable enough to play Cindy. (REUTERS)

Ann B. Davis portrayed the family's kindly housekeeper, Alice. In the last season, Alice is engaged to longtime boyfriend and neighborhood butcher, Sam. A match made in heaven. (ABC)

"Glee" star Jane Lynch would smack some sense into those kids! We'd love to see her run the Brady household like she does her TV cheer squad. (AP)
