<b>Russell Crowe</b> In 2010 there was a strange rumor that actor Russell Crowe had fallen to his death from an Austrian mountaintop. Crowe later joked about the hoax on his Twitter saying, "Unable to answer tweets fell off a mountain in Austria, all over red rover. Don't know how I got there, but the media are never wrong. G'Bye." <b>Will Smith</b> There was a gruesome rumor in 2009 that actor Will Smith had died after crashing his Porsche in the Hollywood Hills. The rumor was quickly squashed. (Reuters)
<b>Paris Hilton</b> The Internet exploded with rumors of Paris Hilton's death while she was doing jail time in 2007. One claimed she had been stabbed by a fellow inmate, while another said she had committed suicide. In actuality, Hilton was serving her time away from the other prisoners due to an undisclosed medical condition. (AP)
