Ayla Brown Grabs Some of Dad's Spotlight

During Massachusetts senator-elect Scott Brown's victory speech, he joked that both of his daughters were "available" before amending his comment, gesturing to Ayla and saying "Just her!" That's the first time many people recognized the attractive Ayla as a past "American Idol" contestant. But there's more... (AP)

What you might not know is <a target="_blank" href="http://aylabrown.com/%20">Ayla has a CD coming out</a>, is donating proceeds from her previous release to Haiti, and was blogging about her dad’s campaign throughout election night. (AP)

Ayla performed on Tuesday night when her dad won.  That night, Ayla "was busy working the crowd, performing with The James Montgomery Blues Band and The Uptown Horns while the results trickled in," she wrote on her blog. The 21-year old aspiring singer appeared on the fifth season of 'American Idol,' and placed in the top 16.  The college basketball player is releasing a new album 'Circles,' in April.  She is donating some of the proceeds from the sale of her debut album, 'Forward,'  released in 2006, to the Haitian relief effort.
