The boxer confirmed in a 2012 interview that he has owned several tigers. “I'm in prison and I've got this big deal with Showtime and the MGM,” Tyson said. "This guy on the phone says, 'You can be driving your Ferrari with your cub in the front seat.' I thought, 'Yeah, when I come out, I'm gonna be a cool dude. I'm gonna have a tiger in my car. I'm gonna be a baller.'” (Associated Press)

Before "Breakfast at Tiffany’s," Audrey Hepburn had a date with a deer. While filming 1959’s "Green Mansions," the animal trainer on set allegedly told the actress to take her on-screen co-star, a fawn, home with her so it would feel comfortable working with her. The duo supposedly spent so much time together that the baby deer named Pippin (nicknamed Ip) thought Hepburn was its mother.  “It was truly amazing to see Audrey with that fawn,” said photographer Bob Willoughby in “Remembering Audrey.” (Associated Press)

Before today’s stars attempted to shock with their unusual pets, ‘30s entertainer Josephine Baker did just that in Paris with her exotic feline. “Offstage, she was just as flamboyant, walking her leopard, Chiquita, down the Champs-Élysées as people sitting in the outdoor cafés gasped,” notes the "Encyclopedia of the Exquisite" by Jessica Kerwin Jenkins. “Fashion queen Diana Vreeland saw the pair at a movie theater in Montmartre and after the show watched admiringly as Baker’s cat pulled its mistress to an enormous white Rolls-Royce at the curb, then ‘whooped’ into the backseat in single bound." While it’s not that unusual for a celebrity to own a farm, it’s not as common to own a pair of miniature donkeys name Honky and Tonky. Actress Reese Witherspoon may think her pets are “docile and sweet,” but her neighbors don’t seem to share the same sentiments. In 2011, a source told Us Weekly that their hee-hawing was so loud a few residents sent her a complaint letter. (Reuters)

As someone who was surrounded by werewolves in the "Twilight" film series, it’s only natural that Kirsten Stewart would get a dog unlike any other: a wolf mix named Jack. “They told us he was a wolf, the actress told talk show host David Letterman in 2010. “I know he looks kind of scary, he’s a wolf. He’s really sweet, he, like, falls at my feet.” And in case you’re wondering, Stewart also mentioned that “wolf hybrids are legal.” (Reuters)

Would you shell out $400 for a pet that can live to be 80-years-old? Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly did. According to TMZ, the actor picked up a 10-year-old Sulcata tortoise at the North American Reptile Breeders Conference and Trade Show in 2010. (Reuters)

The former People Magazine "Sexiest Man Alive” was devastated when his nearly 300-pound potbellied pig passed away in 2006. The porker, which Clooney referred to as "Max, the star," lived with the actor for 18 years. (Associated Press)

The relationship between socialite Paris Hilton and her pet kinkajou Baby Luv came to a halt when the raccoon-like animal bit her in 2006. “I don’t view kinkajous as aggressive animals,” her publicist Elliot Mintz said. “The same kind of thing could have occurred with a German Shepherd.” (Associated Press)

Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, reunited with his pet wallaroo Bucky Buckaroo in 2004 after it escaped, along with Pancho the goat, from his Florida home. The 60-pound animal, which is a cross between a wallaby and a kangaroo, was captured after scratching a woman’s car. The rapper was fined $220 because his permit for the animal expired. Michael Jackson lived with a chimpanzee named Bubbles in the late 1980s and the two were often photographed together. After the singer’s sudden death in 2009, People Magazine reported that then 26-year-old Bubbles was living at a Florida primate sanctuary. It wasn’t known if any funds from Jackson’s estate would be used to support the chimp. (Associated Press)
