10-Year-Old Cystic Fibrosis Patient Is Trying To Reach Selena Gomez Through Social Media

Remember being a kid and begging your parents for tickets to see your favorite star in concert?

For a South Jersey girl, actress and singing sensation Selena Gomez is it.

"Hi. My name is Bailey and this my sister Taylor. We cannot wait to see the Selena Gomez concert on Friday," said the 10-year old in a cellphone video message.

Bailey Gutelius says her grandparents bought tickets for her to go to the concert. But they didn't know she'd be admitted to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for weeks. CHOP is allowing her to leave just to go to the concert but Bailey has one more wish.

"I have cystic fibrosis and I cannot wait to go to your concert and I really want to meet you there," said Bailey in a recorded message from her hospital bed. She's making a plea she hopes will reach Selena Gomez through social media.

Her mom Brynn says it would mean the world to her little girl to meet Selena. It would be a short break from getting medication and treatments to strengthen her lungs while confined to a hospital room.

"She loves Selena so much. She has her music on her Ipod and it's so upbeat for her so I thought maybe Selena wants to meet my amazing kid," said Brynn. Bailey has battled the progressive disease since she was 2 years old.

"I cry a lot about this. I wish that she didn't have it but she does. I really believe that God is in charge though. It would mean her getting to go to school and having a story that would wow everybody and she'd remember it for the rest of her life, instead of everyone remembering her as the sick kid," said a teary-eyed Brynn.

FOX 29 is in touch with Selena's publicist to try and help make the connection.
