There's a spy in Lamborghini's midst, and the company doesn't seem to care.

The Italian automaker has released a teaser photo of its upcoming supercar - rumored to be called Aventador - in advance of its public unveiling at the Geneva Auto Show in March. In the image, the car is covered in the kind of swirly, black and white camouflage wrap that is used to conceal the finer details of the design of a new vehicle as it is being tested on public roads.

It's not the first time a car company has used this type of viral tactic to create buzz for a new car. Last year, Ford released a series of photos of the 2011 Explorer crossover that depicted it being driven through the woods, partially obscured by trees and rocks. Similarly, BMW created the website dontblogaboutthis.com to promote its Vision EfficientDynamics plug-in hybrid sports car.

As for the Lamborghini, it is expected to rely heavily on lightweight carbon fiber for its construction, which should allow its 700 horsepower 6.5-liter V12 engine to propel it to speeds of up to 217 miles per hour through a seven-speed automated-manual transmission. A Formula One-type pushrod suspension design and all-wheel-drive will help justify a price tag well in excess of $300,000.
