The Mahindra Racing Formula E team and Pininfarina - an Italian automotive design company - released images of three concept Formula E designs on Wednesday.
The two organizations are joining together as part of a project to help determine the future look of Formula E. Beginning with season five, which will run from 2018-2019, a new chassis will be entering the sport that will be used by each team from them onwards. In an effort to reduce costs, all that the teams will be able to develop are the powertrains and software.
Fans have been encouraged by both companies to use the hashtag #FormulaEConcepts on social media to provide their feedback.
“Mahindra is a pioneer of EV technology that is always striving to push the boundaries of this exciting new form of mobility,” said Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group. “Our participation in the FIA Formula E Championship gives us yet another platform to co-create the future of mobility. While these innovative designs are a creative project at this stage, I would be thrilled to see the M5Electro look like this.”

Exercising our creativity on these sketches allowed us to imagine the evolution of this formula. The FIA Formula E Series is an all-electric open wheel series that is in its second season of competition. Its next race - the Paris ePrix - will be shown at 6 p.m. ET Saturday on FS2.
