Camaro Z/28 hits the track
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Camaro Z/28 has invaded Europe!
The folks from Chevrolet are currently at the famed Nurburgring race track in Germany shaking down their new super-Camaro, which was recently unveiled at the New York Auto Show.
The stripped down, track-focused muscle car is powered by a 7.0-liter V8 borrowed from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that puts down at least 500 hp.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}GM North America President Mark Reuss is on the scene and has shared the first semi-official video of the car in action via Twitter.
Unfortunately the video was uploaded vertically and the image is squished, but the roar of the angry V8 is well worth a listen.

{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Z/28 features carbon fiber brakes, a track tuned suspension, lightweight body panels and even an audio system that has just one speaker to trim a those last pounds in an effort to deliver the highest performance possible.
The Z/28 is set to go on sale in early 2014, so this probably won’t be the last you see, or hear of it before then.
