2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup Car
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Ford has unveiled its 2013 NASCAR Sprit Cup contender, an all-new version of its Fusion race car.
The updated Car of Tomorrow bears a much stronger resemblance to its namesake production car than NASCAR racers of recent years have, particularly in its adoption of the <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/01/09/new-ford-fusion-plug-in-hybrid-to-get-100-mpge/">2013 Fusion</a>'s distinctive grille and headlight design. <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/01/09/new-ford-fusion-plug-in-hybrid-to-get-100-mpge/"><b>Read: Ford Fusion Plug-In Hybrid to get 100 MPGe</b></a>
The Ford Motor Company Design Center was heavily involved in sculpting the new race car and even managed to incorporate the 2013 Fusion's strong side character line into the design.
Although merely decals, the "tail lights" on the Sprint Cup car are mirror images of those on the production version.
Compared to the current Sprint Cup Fusion, this rendering indicates that the new car will cut a much sleeker profile when it debuts on the high banks of the Daytona International Speedway in February, 2013. <a href="www.foxcarreport.com"><b>Click here for more from FoxNews.com Autos</b></a>
