The Latest on the indictment of former New England Mafia boss Francis "Cadillac Frank" Salemme and a mob associate in the 1993 killing of a Boston nightclub owner (all times local):

A man charged along with a former New England Mob boss with killing a Boston nightclub owner has pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder of a federal witness.

An indictment unsealed Friday accuses Paul Weadick and former mob boss Francis "Cadillac Frank" Salemme in the killing of Steven DiSarro in May 1993. Weadick's lawyer, Carmine Lepore, said Weadick "had nothing to do with" DiSarro's killing.

The indictment alleges that Salemme, Weadick and Salemme's son participated in DiSarro's killing to prevent him from talking to authorities about illegal activities by Salemme and others.

The 83-year-old Salemme led the New England family of La Cosa Nostra in the early 1990s. His son died in 1995.

DiSarro's remains were found in March behind a mill in Providence, Rhode Island.

Salemme also denies playing a role in DiSarro's death. He is being held without bail.

Weadick was ordered held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Sept. 8.
