The 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show takes place January 7 to 10, and Consumer Reports reporters and analysts will be there in full force. You never know what you might see there—but electronics senior editor Mike Gikas has a pretty good idea of what we'll see in the world of smart phones.

Display size will be larger across the board, for one thing—in some cases, making the phones a bit tough to operate as phones. And built-in cameras are getting better, with true optical zoom and image stabilization among the features that are letting your phone compete with your standalone camera.
