Boston Red Sox reliever Andrew Bailey and first baseman Mike Napoli have been named Co-Players of the Week in the American League for the period ending April 21.

During an emotional week in Boston, Bailey recorded a win and three saves with eight strikeouts and Napoli batted .345 (10-for-29) with 10 RBI, including a game-winning hit Monday on Patriots' Day.

The award is the first for both players, who helped guide the Red Sox to a 5-2 record for the week. For just the third time in Boston's history, a pair of players shared the weekly honor.

Other players considered for the award were Kansas City's Lorenzo Cain and Greg Holland and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Mike Trout.
