Keep hope alive.
That is what Audelia Ramírez did, and she must be one happy woman now.
At 73, the grandmother of eight is a SuperLotto winner, thanks to the birthday-related numbers she picked in a nod to her children and grandchildren.
The birthdays helped her clinch half the $18 million California SuperLotto.
The California Lottery said Thursday that Ramírez claimed her $9 million prize Wednesday and said she'd love to buy a new house after living in a small apartment for years. Ramírez has six children and eight grandchildren.
Another winning ticket sold at Junior Liquor in San Diego remains unclaimed.
The winning numbers were: 22, 27, 32, 31, 2 and Mega 11.
