It looks like American critics of MTV’s hit show “Jersey Shore” can rejoice in the possibility that they won’t have to see the cast filming invading their hometown’s any time soon. According to a report from TMZ, the cast will be heading overseas for season 4, which will reportedly be shot in Italy.

Sources tell TMZ that MTV will be scouting locations in Italy to find the right locale, much like they did with Miami for Season 2.

Executives reportedly began working on getting visas for the cast and crew two months ago, TMZ reports.

One source even says they’ve lined up some of Vinny’s Italian relatives to host the cast for an authentic Guadagnino family dinner.

It will likely be an experience for the group to head to Italy as the show deals heavily with Italian-American stereotypes. But while cast members like Vinny and Pauly D. may enjoy heading to Italy to learn about their heritage, Snooki and JWOWW may not have the same experience. As Fox411.com exclusively revealed last year, the two aren’t even of Italian descent!

But filming in Italy is contingent on the government letting them into the country to film, and from the reception that the show got from Italian-American groups, MTV may have an uphill battle on their hands.
