Turkey's state-run news agency says court officials have formally arrested the sons of two government ministers in a vast corruption investigation targeting allies of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Anadolu Agency says Saturday the head of a state-owned bank, a prominent businessman and 14 other people were also formally arrested, bringing the total number of people ordered jailed pending trial in the scandal to 24. The son of a third minister and a construction magnate were freed from custody pending trial.
The private Dogan news agency said the ministers' sons and other suspects are accused of taking or facilitating bribes.
