Truck rescue ends in cliff plunge in Norway
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Police say a Lithuanian truck driver suffered broken bones but survived after his vehicle tumbled 200 feet down a snow-covered cliff in central Norway, bringing a tow truck with it.
Police spokesman Geir Riise said Monday the truck didn't have the right tires and was being towed up a serpentine mountain road in Leirfjord, some 435 miles north of Oslo, when it slid to the side and tipped over the guard rail.
A video shot from another car showed the trailer rolling down the side of the cliff Sunday, pulling along the rescue vehicle.
