Thai police lead key suspect to Bangkok bombing site for re-enactment of his role in blast
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Thai police have escorted one of the key suspects in last month's deadly Bangkok bombing to the scene of the attack for a public re-enactment of his alleged crime.
Under tight security, the suspect was led early Wednesday to an area directly across from the Erawan Shrine.
The popular shrine was targeted by a bombing Aug. 17 that left 20 people dead and more than 120 injured.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Protected by body armor, the suspect repeatedly pointed to the shrine as he talked with investigators. Media were kept at a distance.
Police have identified the man as Yusufu Mierili. His nationality has not been confirmed but police say he was carrying a Chinese passport.
He is believed to have conspired in the attack but is not believed to have detonated the bomb.
