Lebanon's state-run news agency says a series of blasts caused by suicide bombers detonating their explosives in eastern Lebanon have killed five people and wounded at least 15 others.

The National News Agency says the blasts went off early Monday in the village of Qaa near the border with Syria. It says four suicide bombers were involved in the rare attack.

Lebanon's Al-Manar news agency, which is owned by the militant group Hezbollah, said six people were killed and blamed the attack on the Islamic State group.

Hezbollah has been fighting in Syria alongside President Bashar Assad's forces. Previous attacks in Lebanon have been claimed by the IS group.
