Police: 2 more people detained in French probe into student's failed attack on church
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A police official says two people have been detained in an investigation into a failed attack on a suburban Paris church.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to be identified, said the two men were detained in the Seine-Saint-Denis region Wednesday. France's i-Tele television reported they may have provided logistical help to chief suspect Sid Ahmed Ghlam.
Authorities say Ghlam, a computer science student, planned to attack the church in Villejuif and is suspected in the killing of a woman nearby. He was arrested in April after apparently shooting himself by accident.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Ghlam is in custody on preliminary charges. Authorities have made other arrests in the case.
Investigators have said Ghlam received instructions from someone, possibly in Syria, before implementing the plot.
