{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Myanmar has freed a death-row inmate with liver cancer who had been imprisoned for the deadly bombing of a festival in 2010.
The wife of Phyo Wai Aung said he was released Friday by presidential pardon and transferred to a hospital. His lower body is paralyzed.
Phyo Wai Aung had been convicted of murder for the April 15, 2010, bombing of a celebration in Yangon of the traditional New Year. Ten people were killed and 170 wounded. He denied the charge and said evidence against him had been obtained by torture.
