Iran's Rouhani says he is following case of Washington Post reporter
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}President Hassan Rouhani says he is following the case of a Washington Post reporter detained for nearly 11 months.
Jason Rezaian, the Post's 39-year-old bureau chief in Tehran, has had two trial sessions at a Revolutionary Court that handles security issues.
Rouhani told a press conference Saturday that he is committed to pursuing the legal rights of all Iranians, even citizens of other countries who live in Iran, and Rezaian's case is no exception.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Rezaian faces charges including espionage and spreading propaganda against the Islamic Republic, which the Post has said carry 10 to 20-year prison sentences if he is convicted. U.S. officials, the Post and rights groups have strongly criticized Rezaian's trial, demanding he be freed.
Rezaian is a dual U.S.-Iranian citizen, but Iran does not recognize dual nationality.
