International Criminal Court drops case against Ugandan rebel after he is confirmed dead
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}International Criminal Court judges have terminated the case against a senior commander in a notorious Ugandan rebel group following confirmation that he died nearly two years ago in Africa.
Okot Odhiambo was an alleged deputy army commander in the Lord's Resistance Army, a violent militia led by fugitive Joseph Kony. Odhiambo was indicted in 2005 on 10 charges including murder, enslavement and using child soldiers.
The Hague-based court dropped all charges Thursday following DNA tests that confirmed a body exhumed by Ugandan authorities in March was that of Odhiambo. Ugandan authorities say he died on Oct. 27, 2013.
