Germany's Social Democrats agree to talks with Merkel

Germany's Social Democrats said Friday they will begin discussions with Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats on forming a coalition government.
Despite a convincing election win, Merkel needs to form an alliance with either the Social Democratic Party or the Greens to ensure a majority in parliament.
