German police arrest 4 they say were plotting to attack Islamic targets; seize explosives
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Germany federal prosecutors say authorities have conducted raids across the country, arresting four people accused of founding a right-wing extremist group to attack mosques and housing for asylum seekers.
Prosecutors said in a statement Wednesday that a SWAT team arrested three men and a woman from the group and that some 250 investigators searched homes in Saxony and four other states.
Prosecutors allege the "Old School Society" group was planning to attack asylum-seeker housing, mosques and well-known members of the Islamic-extremist Salafist scene in Germany.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The four arrested, identified only as Andreas H., Markus W., Denise Vanessa G. and Olaf O., are accused of having founded the group and having procured explosives.
Prosecutors say they are still trying to determine whether the group had concrete attack plans.
