Two Weeks Marked Since Indiana Student's Disappearance

A missing Indiana college student's father broke down at a news conference Friday as the two-week mark passed since her disappearance.

Friday marked two weeks since 20-year-old Indiana University student Lauren Spierer of Greenburgh, N.Y., was last seen walking alone toward her apartment about 4:30 a.m. June 3 after a night of partying with friends.

Bloomington police Capt. Joe Qualters said police continue to work to find her, including exploring about 500 tips that have been received since Wednesday, when police released video of a white pickup truck that was seen circling a block in the area about the time the young woman vanished.

"As we are here today, again, pretty much at the two-week mark, the bottom line is at this point, we still have a missing person. And our effort to try to find Lauren will not stop," Qualters told reporters at a daily news conference.

Her father, Robert Spierer, became emotional as he reminded reporters that Sunday would be Father's Day.
